Frequently Asked Questions

Pre-Appointment Recommendations

Please bring a state or federally issued ID, Driver’s License, Passport or Military ID if you wish to be tattooed. No exceptions.

Make sure the area to be tattooed is free from skin blemishes, rashes, fresh scars and/or sunburn.

Make sure to drink water and eat a solid meal before your appointment, especially if you are receiving a larger tattoo.

Do not take blood thinners or consume alcohol prior to your appointment.

Classic Aftercare

During the healing process, touching your tattoo without first washing your hands leaves you vulnerable for infections and other skin conditions that may impede your tattoo from healing properly.

Once your tattoo is complete, a bandage is applied to protect it from infection. Leave your bandage on between 45 minutes to an hour. Remove your bandage, wash the tattoo and surrounding area with warm water and an antibacterial soap, and pat dry with a clean towel (or paper towel) without scrubbing.

Wash your tattoo and the surrounding area 2-3 times a day for the duration of the healing process (two to three week period, allow your tattoo to dry for 2-3 minutes and gently apply a thin coat of Aquaphor Healing Ointment each time.

Do not rebandage your fresh tattoo or allow clothing to rub against it if possible.

Exposing your tattoo to dirty towels, pet dander/hair, chlorine pools, hot tubs, lake or ocean water, direct sunlight, tanning bed lights or other harsh conditions may put you at risk for skin infections and adverse healing results.

Your tattoo will heal completely between 3-4 weeks. You can expect to peel as you would from a sunburn and see pigment (tattoo ink) in the skin flakes. The tattoo may have a shiny and “faded” appearance until fully healed.

Saniderm Aftercare

Leave Saniderm on for 3-5 days if possible. If bandage leaks or begins to peel up, remove the Saniderm bandage and use classic aftercare instructions.

To remove Saniderm, find an edge of the bandage and pull it back over itself in the direction of hair growth. A warm running shower is the ideal place to remove Saniderm. Running water and dial gold soap will help loosen the adhesive and relax the skin, making the removal much more comfortable. Dry removal of Saniderm may cause discomfort and added trauma to the skin.

Discard the used bandage and wash the tattoo with an antibacterial soap, preferably fragrance-free, dial gold is reccomended. Allow the tattoo to air dry or pat dry with a clean paper towel. Apply a thin layer of aftercare product to your tattoo, Aquaphor will help the tattoo retain moisture and itch less.

Wash your tattoo and the surrounding area 2-3 times a day for the duration of the healing process (two to three week period, allow your tattoo to dry for 2-3 minutes and gently apply a thin coat of Aquaphor Healing Ointment each time.

Deposit Info

At the time of consultation (please note that consultations are always free), a deposit is required, with the price varying based on the size and complexity of the tattoo. The deposit serves as a non-refundable and non-transferable fee and typically does not go towards the final cost of the tattoo. Its purpose is to ensure that the artist is fairly compensated for the time spent on correspondence, consultations, design work, and creating the tattoo concept.

It is important to note that the tattoo design will not be created until a deposit is received. The timing of the deposit affects appointment scheduling. If a deposit is not made or if there is a lack of communication within a 3-month period after the deposit is made, the deposit will be automatically forfeited.
